In the past, I used to make 3D models and animations with Lightwave. However, in recent years, this software has fallen out of favour within the industry. These days, I have been learning to use Blender for my 3D needs.
The above doughnut animation (created whilst following a tutorial) and the two characters below (my own creations) were made by me using Blender.

3D model of a work in progress for a planned animation
The 3D model I created of a dragon (below) was made in Lightwave. The design was developed from one of the dragons used in my animation Eye of Legend. The pattern on the wings is partially influenced by the fins of a lionfish. A combination of procedural and image-based texture maps were used.
